Former Miss India, a drop-dead-gorgeous dimpled smile, fantastic acting skills, and one of the fittest actors in Bollywood: that’s Gul Panag for you.
Gul does justice to many roles: animal-lover, biker, adrenaline junkie, activist, traveller, adventurer. She is often seen taking part in city-based marathon races. So what is it which keeps her going throughout her busy schedule and what keeps her enthusiastic all the time. The secret to this lies in her fitness regimen and disciplined lifestyle.
Let’s explore the fitness secrets of vivacious and charming Gul Panag:
Gul’s Workout Routine
On days when weather is good, Gul goes for outdoor exercises like running, cycling, playing tennis, etc. On rainy days she can indulge in indoor activities like squash, yoga or strength training in the gym. Normally, she doesn’t follow a very strict fitness routine, however, she does ensure that she incorporates adequate physical activity in her daily routine.
“My fitness mantra is adaptability. I keep in mind that I need to do 45 minutes of intense physical activity a day, whether I am travelling or whether it is raining. And so I adapt my fitness plan according to the situation,” Gul told IANS in an interview in the month of September.
Gul normally does five days of workout in a week as she believes that two days are required to give the body sufficient amount of rest. She also trains for endurance by following online modules based on routines professional athletes follow. Gul has been running in marathons since eight years now.
Gul’s Diet
Gul is very particular about the diet she consumes. She takes extra care to ensure that her diet is in sync with the kind of physical activity she does, the weather and her location. Her diet complements her workout routine. “There is absolutely no point in doing an one hour’s run if you are going to have a brownie and ice cream after it,” exclaims Gul. She maintains that what one eats is the key to how he or she looks and feels. She avoids foods which don’t exist naturally: desserts, deep fried foods, etc as much as she can.
Fitness Mantras from Gul Panag
Viewing fitness as a burden is something very wrong. It should be a lifestyle choice.
Take care of your body if you want it to go along well with you as long as you live.
Don’t follow a fitness routine blindly. Take into account the weather, location and the kind of physical activity you do.
Eat sensibly and don’t binge.
The right attire and support is very important, especially for high impact exercises.
Eating unhealthy foods can undo all your fitness-related physical efforts. (Health, MensXP.com)
