ACTOR Gul Panag is also a certified pilot, an interest she pursued when she married her commercial pilot husband Rishi Attari. Last week, the beautiful actor flew over Mumbai in a ‘day check ride’. She completed her ‘General Flying Test by Day’ to fulfil ‘recency’ requirements of her private pilot’s licence. “I like to fly as often as possible but sometimes there are long gaps. In such a case, one needs to do a recency check,” she tells us. The test was conducted by test pilot Captain Mihir Bhagvati at the Juhu airport and the licence will be issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in a few weeks. “I’ve just started flying out of Mumbai and it has changed my perspective on the city. And every weekend I haven’t flown out of Juhu is a weekend wasted.”
