Report by India Education bureau, New Delhi: Well known actress Gul Panag today said there is a need to fight for adopting ecofriendly initiatives for a sustainable future. She was speaking at the “Green Lifestyles” session at the National Conference on Green Design organized by ADARSH in association with TERI and MNRE today at India Habitat Centre.
In conversation with Mr. Prasanto K Roy, Editorial Advisor, CyberMedia and Evangelist, the actress spoke about her SVAGRIHA certified weekend home near Mumbai saying “My Husband and I have this passion for coming up with self-sustained and off the grid practices, our weekend home at Mulshi is a testimony to that”.
She further added that the benefits of going green are many which includes reduced energy consumption, better light and indoor air quality.
On being asked , if movies can play a role in generating awareness on such issues, she said that the movies definitely have a potential, and she is hopeful that we would be able to chalk a way forward in this regard.
