“What’s the big deal in it after all”, questions Gul, “Also, this is not the first time that I have done something like this on screen. Before HELLO also I have had love making scenes in practically each of my films. Have you forgotten MANORAMA –SIX FEET UNDER or DOR?”

No, we haven’t!

“That’s the point”, she exclaims, “Doing love making scenes is nothing new to me. Though what exasperates me is when a harmless word like ‘condom’ is deleted in the final print. In the film, the scene involves me asking Sharman if he is carrying a condom. However, Censors seem to have objections with that. Here I am trying to propagate safe sex while Censors have their own point of view. Strange naa!”

HELLO is an important film for Gul since in 2008 she has had a sole release in the form of SUMMER 2007 which unfortunately failed at the box office. Though it was reasonably well made, lack of promotion killed whatever chances that it carried.

“However, I am happy with the way HELLO has been promoted. I just shot a promotional video with Salman Khan also for the film. This is for the remix version of the title song ‘Hello’. The video has been shot in quite an innovative manner and it was fun being a part of it”, concludes Gul.
