Chandigarh: The scene outside Punjab University is a different one these days.
The PU recently opened its doors to students who were forced to drop out midway due to unavoidable circumstances.
The university campus has suddenly come alive with hundreds of applicants expressing their desire to take the exams in April-May 2013. Close to 1,000 ex-students have expressed their willingness to go back to school.
Last year, former Miss India Gul Panag hogged headlines after she expressed a desire to complete her studies from Panjab University. The actor had announced the decision after she left PU in 2002 due to work compulsions.
Speaking on the development, A K Bhandari, the registrar at PU, said that the trend has suddenly come up with scores of students expressing their desire to complete studies after long gap.
He added that the department concerned is processing applications as per the special chance given by the VC.
